Your eSIM and QR arrive by email the second you pay. Install it on Wi-Fi at home, then just switch on data roaming when you land — pick the method that fits your phone.

iOS opens the installer automatically — tap Continue, then Add eSIM.

Label the plan (e.g. “SimChao Japan”) and keep your usual SIM as your primary line.

Set the SimChao line as your mobile-data line. Done — install before you fly.
Activate on arrival. When you land: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → tap your SimChao plan → turn on Data Roaming. That only lets the local network carry your data — the plan is prepaid, so there are never roaming charges.
